Image Converter

Converts a given input image from one pixel type (or image type) into another pixel type (or image type), e.g. ShortType into ByteType or an PlanarImg into an ArrayImg.

Options

Target type
Select the pixel type here in which the images should be converted.
Conversion method
Determines how the pixel values should be treated (e.g. if they don't fit in the domain of the target pixel type). Available methods are
  • Copy - Just copies the values. If the orgininal values are out of the domain of the target type, it might lead to unexpected results (e.g. when converting from ShortType to ByteType).
  • Clip - Copies the values but replaces the values beyond the range of the target type with the minimum and maximum value, respectively.
  • Scale - Scales the values to the new domain. No overflows will occur.
  • Normalize and Scale - First normalizes the with respect to the original domain and then scales them to according to the new domain, i.e. the target type.
  • Normalize - Only normalizes the whole image before copying the values.
  • Normalize (Clipped) - Normalizes the values, copies them and takes the minimum/maximum, if they are out of range.
Factory Selection
How the image pixel will be organised in the memory. May have impact on the runtime of algorithms. SOURCE_FACTORY uses the storage strategy from the original image.

Column Selection

Column Creation Mode

Mode how to handle the selected column. The processed column can be added to a new table, appended to the end of the table, or the old column can be replaced by the new result

Column Suffix
A suffix appended to the column name. If "Append" is not selected, it can be left empty.
Column Selection
Selection of the columns to be processed.

Views

Image Viewer
Another, possibly interactive, view on table cells. Displays the selected cells with their associated viewer if it exists. Available views are:
- Labeling View
-- View on a labeling/segmentation
- Combined View
-- A viewer shown when the user selects an interval of rows and columns in the viewer. This viewer combines all images and labelings in the selected interval to one image by rendering them next to each other. Alternatively, the images and labelings can be layed over each other.
- XML
-- XML tree
- Histogram Viewer
-- This viewer shows the histogram of the currently selected image.
- Image Viewer
-- This viewer renders the selected image-cell.
- Missing Value Viewer
-- An empty viewer that is shown when the input cell has no value to display.
- BigDataViewer
-- A viewer shown when the user selects an interval of rows and columns in the viewer. This viewer combines all images and labelings in the selected interval to one image by rendering them next to each other. Alternatively, the images and labelings can be layed over each other.
