🔑 exorbyte License Activation Guide

Before using any exorbyte matchmaker toolbox nodes in KNIME, you must activate a valid license.
This short workflow helps you request, register, and activate your license.

📩 Step 1: Request a License

1. Open the “License Requester” node and choose one of the following:

   • Demo License (30 days) – no token required.

   • Production License – enter your Customer Token provided by exorbyte team.

2. Enter your email address.
   The signed license file (.lic) will be sent to you by email.

3. Once you receive the .lic file:

   • Save it locally on your machine.

   • Reopen the License Requester node, select the file via the Path configuration, and run the node again.

   The node will:

   • Copy the .lic file into the correct internal exorbyte license directory.

   • Make it available for the License Activator node to access.

⚙️ Step 2: Activate the License

1. Run the License Activator node.
   The node automatically validates your .lic file and activates the license for your current KNIME session.

2. Once activated:

   • All exorbyte matchmaker toolbox nodes become usable within your workspace.

   • A flow variable exorbyte.license_activated = true is created to confirm successful activation.

🔁 Step 3: Re-activate When Reopening KNIME

Licenses are session-based in KNIME Analytics Platform.
After restarting KNIME:

• The license remains stored,

• But you need to re-run the License Activator node to re-enable the extension functionality.

• Make sure to connect the License Activator node to the first exorbyte node in your workflow using a flow variable connection. This ensures that the license is validated and activated before any other exorbyte nodes are executed.

🧠 Notes & Tips

• Each KNIME environment (local, Hub, or another machine) requires its own license.

• The License Requester node will not execute unless you check the user consent box.

• If online submission fails, you can manually email the generated request file to

• On KNIME Hub, licenses should be stored securely as Secrets and retrieved using a HubAuthenticator setup.

• Make sure to connect the License Activator node to the first exorbyte node in your workflow using a flow variable connection. This ensures that the license is validated and activated before any other exorbyte nodes are executed.
