Make your AI fluent in KNIME

The NodePit MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other assistants look up nodes, extensions, and workflows on NodePit instead of guessing from memory.

Is there a KNIME node that creates QR codes?
search“qr code”get_nodeQrDesignerNodeFactory

Yes. The QRocodile QR Code Nodes extension has QR Code Designer, QR Code Generator, Render QR Code, and more.

The designer is meant to “design a QR code that looks like your brand, not like a barcode”. Details, ports, and installation: QRocodile on NodePit.

How It Works

1

Add the Server

Paste the address into your assistant, or run one command. No key, no login.

2

Ask about KNIME

Describe what you need in your own words, as you would ask a colleague.

3

Get Real Answers

Your assistant searches NodePit and answers with the actual nodes, extensions, and workflows.

Add It to Your Assistant

Every assistant needs the same address. Pick yours.

  1. Go to Customize › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Paste https://nodepit.com/mcp and click Add.
  3. In a chat, click + and switch NodePit on under Connectors.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; the free plan allows one. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector first under “Organization settings”, and then each member connects it for themselves.

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http nodepit https://nodepit.com/mcp

Add --scope user to have it in every project.

  1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT on the web, click +, and choose Add custom MCP server.
  2. Paste https://nodepit.com/mcp as the URL, set the authentication to No authentication, and confirm the warning.
  3. In a new chat, type @ and pick the plugin.

Availability depends on your plan and workspace settings, and OpenAI changes the menus now and then. OpenAI’s guide has the current steps.

Terminal
codex mcp add nodepit --url https://nodepit.com/mcp

Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects:

.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nodepit": {
      "url": "https://nodepit.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Add this to .vscode/mcp.json, or run MCP: Add Server from the command palette:

.vscode/mcp.json
{
  "servers": {
    "nodepit": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://nodepit.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Any client that speaks MCP over streamable HTTP works. If yours can configure itself, hand it this:

Prompt for your agent
Add the remote MCP server "nodepit" to your configuration. It uses the streamable HTTP transport at https://nodepit.com/mcp and needs no authentication.

Things to Ask

Click a question to copy it, then paste it into your assistant.

What It Can Do

12 tools. Your assistant picks the right one by itself.

search

Search by name across nodes, categories, extensions, workflows, products, and users. Returns nodePitId, kind, and url of each hit.

list_nodes

Summary list of all nodes. To find a specific node, use search instead.

get_node

Details of a node: description, ports, options, extension it ships in, a deprecation notice with replacement if any, and the nodes most often connected before (predecessors) and after (successors) it.

list_categories

Summary list of all node categories.

get_category

Details of a node category: its description, the categories above it, and the extension which provides it.

get_extension

Details of an extension (a.k.a. feature): its name and the update site to install it from.

list_workflows

Summary list of public workflows and components.

get_workflow

Details of a workflow or component: the nodes it uses, its annotations, and a download URL if available.

list_products

Summary list of the products (extensions by vendors) listed on NodePit.

get_product

Details of a product: description, latest version, download count, and the extensions it consists of.

list_knime_versions

KNIME releases with their release date, newest last. Filter by platform to see only the versions built for it.

send_feedback

Lets your assistant report a failed tool, wrong or missing data, or a missing capability to the NodePit team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nothing. It uses public NodePit data and there is no account to create.

No. The server is open, so your assistant connects without a login or an API key.

No. The tools read public data, and tell your assistant so, which many clients use to skip the confirmation prompt. The one exception, send_feedback, only sends us a note. The server cannot reach your files, your conversation, or your other connectors.

Your assistant may call send_feedback when a tool fails or something is missing. We receive the text it writes, the category, the tool, the name of your client, and the address of the request. A person reads it, and it is limited to five reports per hour and client.

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over streamable HTTP: Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, and VS Code, among others. The address is https://nodepit.com/mcp.

Yes, 60 requests per minute and client. Assistants stay far below that, even for a long conversation.

Both read the same data. The REST API is the one to use in your own code: it has paging, node images, and the complete data model. The MCP server trims what it returns to what fits into a conversation.

It is what NodePit shows on its website at that moment.
