This workflow showcases the capabilities of Google Analytics 4 in conjunction with the KNIME Analytics Platform. You can easily download and run the workflow directly in your KNIME installation. We recommend that you use the latest version of the KNIME Analytics Platform for optimal performance.
This example demonstrates that extracting data from the old Google Analytics version, Universal Analytics, via API is still possible using the legacy Google Analytics nodes from the KNIME repository. However, please note that this can only be done until July 1, 2024.
Backing up your data is important to prevent loss. Refer to the "Google Analytics 4 and loops" workflow in this folder that shows how to back up large quantities of data to a local file, the cloud or a database using the KNIME Analytics Platform.
As you may notice, the workflow nodes are currently not executed (indicated by the red light) because you need to authenticate through your Google account via the Google Authenticator node. Select the node and refer to its description on the left side panel for instructions on storing your credentials within the workflow.
By default, credentials are stored in memory. You must re-authenticate when resetting the node or closing the workflow. Once authenticated, select the desired property and connect to the "Google Analytics Connector" node.
As explained above, we have used the legacy Google Analytics node to extract historical data with the same structure as the GA4 nodes. We have concatenated the tables and plotted the data using the Line Plot node.
