KNIME Batch Executor was KNIME AG’s own command-line tool for running a single workflow headlessly — our free NodePit Batch is its drop-in replacement. KNIME AG moved it out of the default build and into a separate, opt-in extension starting with KNIME 5.9, then stopped making that extension available to install at all as of April 2026. Existing installations keep working, but there’s no path forward on a fresh setup. Like any CLI-only tool, it also always needed an external scheduler like cron or Task Scheduler to run unattended — it was never a scheduler itself.
KNIME Batch Executor let you trigger a single KNIME workflow from the command line, invoked by your own cron job or Task Scheduler entry. It had no scheduler, UI, or multi-workflow support of its own, and it’s no longer available to install on any current KNIME version.

KNIME Batch Executor used to be the simplest way to trigger a single workflow from the command line, but it’s since been discontinued for new installs (KNIME’s own recommended replacement is KNIME Pro). NodePit Batch is the drop-in replacement: same idea, the same KNIME executable and command-line pattern, free, and still actively maintained. NodePit Runner then builds scheduling, monitoring, and team access on top of it.
