High Standard Deviation
This analytic test is used to analyze the distribution of any numeric field within the population of records from the source table. The analytic also identifies numeric values within the source table that have unusually high or low values relative to the rest of the population. This analytic can be applied to a wide variety of data (e.g. any transaction file).
Standard deviation measures the variability of a population, and it is also commonly used to measure confidence in statistical conclusions. Stratification of data, such as standard deviation analysis, can highlight transactions that are unexpected or that are potentially high-risk. Standard deviation analysis assists managers with understanding the dispersion of activities, that is, how consistent or inconsistent data is.
