Line Plot Examples


This workflow shows different options available for creating a Line Plot. The example data indicate the development of Covid-19 in a bunch of countries.
The data source comes from the https://github.com/owid/covid-19-data GitHub repository.

We use the Line Plot node from the KNIME Views (Labs). To install this Labs extension, go to 'File > Install KNIME Extensions > KNIME Labs Extensions > KNIME Views (Labs)'.

Covid-19 total cases trend over time is easier to visualise using a Line Plot example. Making a line chart with time series data for different categories is an excellent way to visualise and compare them.

With the Line Plot node from KNIME Views (Labs), you can double-click and configure your chart, then click 'save and execute' and see the results without leaving the configuration window.

We have created a component example in the workflow with widgets. You can visualise it on your Local Machine or execute it in the KNIME Business Hub.
Definitely, it's a fancier and more updated visualisation node. If you include it within KNIME components, you can build professional dashboards.

Line Plot Visualization This workflow shows different options available for creating a Line Plot. The example data indicate the development of Covid-19 in a bunch of countries. Standard Configuration Double-click the node to open the configuration window. Save and execute to see your changes directly there. To apply and save your changes, click OK. Enriched configuration Plot - Added Title and axis labels - Legend displayed Interactivity - Show tooltip - Enable Animation - Enable download Flow Variable Version Right-click > Configure Flow Variables... In the example, we are controlling the Time format with a flow variable. Data App Execute it and Right-click > click on Interactive view... With a refresh button and two Date Widgets, we are dynamically defining the period that we want to visualise.
