Returns information about a specific file.

Options

File Id
The ID of the file to use for this request.
Result Format

Specify how the response should be mapped to the table output. The following formats are available:

Structured Table: Returns a parsed table with data split into rows and columns.

  • Id: The file identifier, which can be referenced in the API endpoints.
  • Bytes: The size of the file, in bytes.
  • Created At: The Unix timestamp (in seconds) for when the file was created.
  • Expires At: The Unix timestamp (in seconds) for when the file will expire.
  • Filename: The name of the file.
  • Object: The object type, which is always file.
  • Purpose: The intended purpose of the file. Supported values are assistants, assistants_output, batch, batch_output, fine-tune, fine-tune-results, vision, and user_data.
  • Status: Deprecated. The current status of the file, which can be either uploaded, processed, or error.
  • Status Details: Deprecated. For details on why a fine-tuning training file failed validation, see the error field on fine_tuning.job.

Raw Response: Returns the raw response in a single row with the following columns:

  • body: Response body
  • status: HTTP status code
