Creatinine Clearance, Glomerular Filtration Rate, Drug Dosage Calculation Dashboard
CrCl and GFR are important as they are needed to calculate accurate measurements of a patient’s renal function. Knowing a patient’s precise renal function truly aids in the prediction of kidney disease progression and prevention of potential drug toxicity.
In addition, there is the benefit of being able to decide upon appropriate individualized treatment for patients, based on their renal function status. This form of treatment could mean dose reduction, lengthening the dosing interval or both.
In pharmacy, pharmacists strive to avoid risks associated with disease progression, overdosing, underdosing, and any factor hindering optimal treatment delivery or patient recovery.
