KNIME component for calculation of needed numbers of fast chargers for electric cars. The expected load, cars per minute, is calculated from the maximum capacity at existing gas stations, with assumption that charger stations have to cope with same maximum capacity in the long run.
Basis for the calculation is Erlang C formulas and their usage regarding Call Centers. Arival of cars is assumed to be poisson distributed likewise arival of calls. Refill or Charging time is assumed to be exponential distributed likewise call handling time at Call Centers. Referens to Call Center calculations could be found at same KNIME Hub space at folder "Call Center calculation".
Attached you will also find an report, Scenario charging needs Tönnebro 2040, with a use case where these calculations are used.
As input to this KNIME component the idea is to have a list of gas stations with details about number of liquid fuel pumps equiped.
Output will then be a list of same stations with calculated number of fast charger equiped to have same maximum capacity for electric cars as for liquid fuel cars.
The interactiv view shows graphs where relationship between liquid fuel pumps and fast chargers could be studied, plus some calculation results regarding waiting queue for electric cars.
