I want to run the Palladian Nodes on the free KNIME Analytics platform. Do I need a paid license?

No. Paid licenses are only required if you use a paid KNIME product (read “KNIME Server” or “KNIME Business Hub”).

I’m using the Palladian Nodes in a commercial set up with the free KNIME Analytics platform. Do I need a paid license?

No. Paid licenses are only required if you use a paid KNIME product (read “KNIME Server” or “KNIME Business Hub”).

I’m using the Palladian Nodes within a customer consulting project or similar for which I charge money, e.g. as a freelancer. Do I need a paid license?

No. Paid licenses are only required if you use a paid KNIME product (read “KNIME Server” or “KNIME Business Hub”).

I want to run the Palladian Nodes on a KNIME Server or KNIME Business Hub. Do I need a paid license?

Yes.

I want to run the Palladian Nodes one more than one KNIME Server instance. Can I share a single license key between several KNIME Server instances?

No. Each KNIME Server or KNIME Business Hub instance requires its own license key.

Does the cost for the license depend on the number of users for the KNIME Server or KNIME Business Hub?

No. The cost for the license does not depend on the number of users.

In which way are you affiliated with the KNIME AG?

We are not affiliated with the KNIME AG. We deliberately are not a “KNIME Partner”, but an independent company. We strongly believe that only this way we can provide you with the best and most innovative solutions and services and avoid any conflicts of interest which would stem from a coupling with the KNIME AG.

Will I enter a recurring subscription by buying a license?

No. Your purchase will be for a license which is valid for the selected period (i.e. one, two, or three years). It will not automatically extend after that. To continue using the nodes after the paid period has ended, simply purchase a new license.

Which steps do I need to take to install the nodes and import my license key on the KNIME Server or KNIME Business Hub?

You can install the nodes on a KNIME Server either through (a) the GUI or (b) the P2 Director command line application (e.g. when you do not have GUI access). More information can be found in the section “Installing additional extensions” in the “KNIME Server Administration Guide”.

Please use the following update site URL: https://download.nodepit.com/palladian/x.y (where x.y is your KNIME version, e.g. 5.3).

Install the following features:

  • ws.palladian.nodes.feature.feature.group
  • ws.palladian.nodes.hashalgos.feature.feature.group

After installation, the license needs to be provided to the “KNIME Executor”. Please enter the license key in the KNIME preferences under KNIME → Palladian. Then follow the instructions under “Preferences file” in the “KNIME Server Administration Guide”.

If you’re using a KINME Business Hub, set the update site URL in the “Executor Image Builder” under “Advanced Settings → Update Sites → Custom Update Sites”. For supplying the license key we recommend to set up a “customization profile” (see here).

Is it possible to order the Palladian Nodes through our enterprise-specific “purchase order” or “vendor platform” procedures?

Yes. If the purchasing process requires any additional manual procedures which cannot entirely be covered by our simple “self-service” flow on NodePit, we’ll be happy to support you with that. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and receive a custom-tailored quotation.
